Ecoflex® –
Inspired by Nature

Under the brand name Ecoflex®, BASF offers biodegradable, aliphatically aro­matic copolyesters. In industrial composting facilities, Ecoflex® decomposes within a few weeks without leaving any residues behind. Whether in formulations made of thermoplastic starch and biodegradable synthetic polymers, so-called starch blends, or as a mono-application in the realm of flexible films, Ecoflex® offers customers completely biodegradable packaging.

The properties of products derived from starch, polylactic acid (PLA), cellulose, polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) and lignin can all be further improved with the use of Ecoflex®, thereby opening up new applications.

Moreover, Ecoflex® alone is also suitable for numerous applications. Mulch film for agriculture, cling-wrap film or coat­ings for packaging and breathable films in the hygiene sector are but a few examples.
