Welcome to BASF Performance Polymers GmbH in Rudolstadt!
Our Rudolstadt plant, which has been part of the BASF Group since October 1, 2003, lies in the green heartlands of Thuringia about 35 km south of Weimar. As part of the Performance Materials division of BASF SE, we make polyamide compounds of the BASF Ultramid® brand.
Rudolstadt’s industrial park traces its history back to the rayon manufacturer Thüringische Zellwolle AG, founded in 1935. Polyamide and polyamide fibers were already being manufactured here in the period after the Second World War. In 1990, the state-run combine which owned the plant during the communist period was dismantled, resulting in the emergence of several successor companies – one of which was BASF Performance Polymers GmbH.
With around 110 employees, the plant is one of the biggest employers in the region.
As an accredited training enterprise, the plant offers apprenticeships in commercial and technical fields.
